I'm Evan Hall, a children's author in St. Johns County. My Spud Grows books tackle fairness, attitude, feelings, and failure. I love visiting local schools to read to students, discuss the topics in my books, and talk about the writing process.   • All ages!

    For younger children (3-8), I will read the story and help them understand the story and the lesson.

    For older children, I will focus more on the process of writing a story or creating a book.

  • I’m flexible.

    But around 30 to 40 minutes is pretty standard.

  • $100 for those near Jacksonville, FL (St. Johns, Duval, or Clay County).

    Fee is waived with 10 or more book orders from your school/parents.

    If you are further away from Jacksonville, minimum price depends on the distance.

  • For younger kids, I’ll read at least one of my books and talk about the lessons within.

    For older kids I will talk more about the writing process.

    I always leave time for Q&A which is my favorite part!

  • Yes indeed!

    I will provide a link for parents to order signed books. I will bring these on the day of my visit.

    I’m also willing to sign book on the day of my visit if you would like.
